About The Position

Sage V Foods is looking for a dependable, motivated CDL Driver to join our team in Little Rock, AR! This position will be responsible for driving a company truck to pick up and deliver rice and other supplies. The individual will also assist with production in terms of in-plant staging of rice and other supplies. This role involves dropping and hooking on two parking lots using a Yard Dawg truck, with no road runs outside the Port. Responsibilities include unloading rice into appropriate silos, backing bulk trailers into the plant to dump raw rice, occasional runs to the local fuel station to refill the Yard Dawg, and maintaining regular maintenance of truck(s). The driver will also generate and complete all necessary paperwork for inbound raw rice, assist production by staging in-house supplies, dumping rice containers/totes, and stacking finished product. A key part of the role is visually inspecting raw rice while unloading trucks to identify foreign objects and potential quality issues. The driver must wear proper safety equipment and follow all food safety, legal, quality, process control policies, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s). Sweeping, dusting, and mopping of the unloading area are also required to ensure it is accessible and safe for other employees. Additional facilities maintenance or production duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
3 years OTR experience.
Ability to drive a variety of forklift equipment (e.g., Stand-up forklifts).
Current CDL with ability to pass DOT physical exams and drug screen.
Must obtain Bronze Career Readiness Certificate within 60 days of hiring.
Ability to successfully interact with a variety of internal and external customers.

Nice To Haves

Experience with tankers is preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend production schedules.
Coordinate delivery/loading requirements of rice and other supplies with assistance from supervisor.

Responsibilities

Dropping & Hooking on our two parking lots using a Yard Dawg truck.
Unload rice into appropriate silos in accordance with established written procedures.
Back bulk trailers into the plant to dump raw rice, if needed.
Occasional runs to local fuel station to refill Yard Dawg.
Maintain regular maintenance of truck(s) as needed.
Maintain all required DOT and company records/reports.
Generate and complete all necessary paperwork for inbound raw rice.
Assist production by staging in-house supplies, dumping rice containers/totes and stacking finished product.
Visually inspect raw rice while unloading truck to help identify foreign object and other potential quality issues.
