About The Position

SA Recycling is seeking a CDL Class A Roll Off Heavy Driver to join their team. The primary responsibility of this role is to transport materials, which involves driving a semi-truck to customer locations to pick up loaded containers and deliver empty ones. Drivers are expected to maintain professionalism when interacting with customers and their employees, adhere to all DOT regulations, and follow in-yard rules for safe operation in confined spaces. Safety is paramount, requiring drivers to wear seatbelts at all times and ensure visibility on camera. Roll-off experience is mandatory for this position.

Requirements

• Must pass a medical DOT physical and DOT drug test.
• Must pass a background check.
• 3 Years as a Valid CDL Class A driver required and registered with the Clearing House.
• No Restrictions.
• 10 speed manual required.
• Ability to communicate with others effectively.
• Ability to understand direction (written or oral).
• Ability to use basic math skills as the job demands.
• Roll Off experience required.
• Open top trailer experience required.
• Must be 21 to apply.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks hauling scrap metal.
• Inspect and determine metal grade for inventory tracking.
• Perform DOT daily operation and safety inspection.
• Communicate with office and customers to determine commodities to load.
• Drive scrap metal independently.
• Work with customers to satisfy their needs and assist them when problems arise.
• Collaborate with other employees in the scrap metal yard to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform normal daily operation maintenance including refueling, lubrication, cooling system cleaning, and housekeeping.
• Clean up work area at the end of shift.
• Keep work areas neat and orderly.
• Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner.
• Perform inspections to ensure cleanup is completed.
• Maintain effective housekeeping in the workplace area for safety and hygienic conditions.
