CDL Class A OTR Driver
About The Position
Airgas is hiring for a CDL A Bulk Driver in Guilderland, NY. This role involves driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle (Tractor-trailer) combination, typically over long distances, to transport and off-load compressed and liquefied industrial gases to customers or storage sites. The driver is responsible for ensuring safe, timely, accurate, and courteous delivery. Key duties include performing pre and post-trip inspections, reporting any maintenance needs, and immediately reporting all accidents, potential injuries, safety issues, driving citations, and customer complaints to their supervisor. The driver will also be responsible for completing and submitting required DOT and Airgas company policy reports. This specific position involves hauling Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in a tanker.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- 3+ year experience as driver of tractor - trailer vehicles
- Class A CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), two years technical college or military technical experience Preferred
- Three (3) years of HazMat or Tanker experience
Responsibilities
- Drive Commercial Motor Vehicle (Tractor-trailer) combination, usually long distances, to transport and off-load compressed and liquefied industrial gases to customers or to storage sites in a safe, timely, accurate, and courteous manner.
- Perform pre & post trip inspections to identify any maintenance action that may be required and act appropriately if action is needed.
- Report all accidents, possible injuries, safety issues, driving citations, and customer complaints to include service interruptions immediately to their supervisor.
- Complete and submit reports as required by the DOT and/or Airgas company policy.
- Tanker - Hauling Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
