About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a CDL Class A Driver to join our transportation team. This role is vital for the safe and timely delivery of metal roofing, wall panel systems, trim, and related building products to customers and job sites. The driver will be responsible for operating a Class A commercial vehicle, loading and securing materials, operating a Moffett forklift for unloading, performing vehicle inspections, and maintaining accurate delivery records. The position also involves professional communication with dispatch and customers, ensuring load security, adhering to transportation regulations, reporting maintenance concerns, and providing excellent customer service. Training for the route and equipment will be provided.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class A license
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements
  • Knowledge of load securement procedures for building materials
  • Ability to safely lift and handle delivery materials when required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules effectively
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply

Nice To Haves

  • Previous flatbed hauling experience preferred
  • Experience operating a Moffett forklift strongly preferred
  • Metal building products or construction material delivery experience
  • Forklift and material handling equipment experience
  • Knowledge of DOT compliance and electronic logging system

Responsibilities

  • Safely operating a Class A commercial vehicle to transport metal building products to customer locations
  • Loading, securing, transporting, and unloading materials in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety standards
  • Operating a Moffett forklift for job site and customer-side unloading
  • Performing pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections
  • Verifying load accuracy against shipping documentation prior to departure
  • Maintaining accurate delivery records, logs, and required transportation documentation
  • Communicating professionally with dispatch, plant personnel, and customers regarding delivery schedules and updates
  • Ensuring all loads are properly secured to prevent damage during transit
  • Adhering to all federal, state, and local transportation regulations
  • Reporting vehicle maintenance concerns or delivery issues promptly
  • Providing excellent customer service during deliveries
  • Assisting with yard organization and trailer movement as needed
