About The Position

Ajax Distributing is a family owned and operated distribution company for beer and non-alcoholic beverages in Clarksville, Paris, Memphis and surrounding areas. Ajax Distributing is an equal opportunity employer started in 1933 by Edward "Ajax" and Geraldine Turner as a Double Cola and Dr. Pepper bottler and Falstaff and Gerst beer distributor in Clarksville. Ajax acquired the rights to Miller High Life in 1970 and Miller Lite in 1975. The company later acquired the rights to Coors Brewing Company in 1988. This is a Full-Time Position, Monday - Friday, located in Clarksville, TN.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED.
Must have a valid Commercial Class A driver license and must maintain an acceptable driver record in compliance with DOT requirements.
Must have valid DOT Medical Card.
Good communication skills.
Good driving history.
The employee must be able to lift/manipulate products from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. on a regular basis unassisted.

Nice To Haves

5 years of commercial driving experience is preferred.
Experience in beverage delivery is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate semi-trucks to transport freight between our Clarksville, TN warehouse and our Paris, TN Warehouse, twice daily.
Navigate between pickup and delivery destinations safely and efficiently, adjusting for traffic or road closures as needed.
Maintain acceptable driver record in compliance with DOT requirements and company policy.
Complete safety checks daily and submit repair orders immediately to avoid repair cost and DOT violations.
Fuel vehicles required for transporting freight.
Occasional operation of forklifts and/or hand pallet jacks to assist with loading and unloading of freight.
