About The Position

SA Recycling is a growing scrap metal recycler looking for a CDL Class A Heavy Driver. Safety is the top priority for this position. The main goal of the Truck Driver is to move material efficiently and safely. This role involves driving a Roll off/semi-truck to customer yards, collecting loaded containers, and returning empty ones. End Dump experience is required. Drivers must maintain professionalism when interacting with customers and their employees, adhere to all DOT Regulations, and follow in-yard rules for driving in close quarters and traffic control. Seat belt usage and visibility on camera are mandatory.

Requirements

• 3 years of CDL Driving experience with consistent job history.
• End dump experience required.
• Must pass a medical DOT physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check with a clean MVR (no recent violations).
• Consent to Clearing house.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to understand direction (written or oral).
• Ability to use basic math skills as the job demands.
• Must be 21 to apply.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.
• Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks hauling scrap metal.
• Operate Roll off and End Dump trucks.
• Inspect and determine metal grade for inventory tracking.
• Perform DOT daily operation and safety inspections.
• Communicate with the office and customers to determine commodities to load.
• Work independently when driving scrap metal.
• Collaborate with customers to meet their needs and resolve issues.
• Work with other employees in the scrap metal yard to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform daily operation maintenance, including refueling, lubrication, cooling system cleaning, and housekeeping.
• Clean up the work area at the end of the shift.
• Keep work areas neat and orderly.
• Organize materials for effective use of space.
• Dispose of various waste materials appropriately.
• Ensure cleanup is completed through inspection.
• Maintain effective housekeeping in the workplace for safety and hygiene.
