About The Position

Primoris Distribution Services is seeking a skilled CDL Class A Equipment Operator with experience in natural gas construction for our Fort Pierce, FL location. This role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating various heavy equipment to support pipeline and utility infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment, specifically in natural gas pipeline or utility construction.
  • Proven ability to safely and proficiently operate excavators, bulldozers, trenchers, backhoes, and loaders.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging outdoor environments.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must be able to travel to various job sites within the Fort Pierce, FL area and potentially beyond.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with natural gas specific equipment and procedures is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, trenchers, backhoes, loaders, and other specialized natural gas construction equipment.
  • Safely and efficiently transport materials, equipment, and personnel to and from job sites in compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, ensuring all components are in good working order and reporting any defects or malfunctions.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment and materials.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures, including those specific to natural gas operations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and other personnel.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, time sheets, and other required documentation.
  • Participate in daily job briefings and safety meetings.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment as needed.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
