Local CDL Class A Driver (Full-Time, Home Daily!)
About The Position
US 1 Shorthaul is seeking a full-time CDL Class A Driver for a local haul position. This role involves transporting loads between our warehouse and a local distribution center, including dropping and hooking up loads. The driver will be responsible for safely maneuvering the truck and trailer in industrial environments, regularly checking equipment for faults or damages, and ensuring compliance with all guidelines, including weight restrictions. Additionally, the driver will produce activity logs, identify workplace safety hazards, and perform other duties as assigned by management. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position with overtime pay for hours worked over 40 in a week. There is no Over-The-Road (OTR) travel required, and drivers will be home daily.
Requirements
- Minimum 18 months, verifiable over-the-road experience in the past 5 years, of which 12 months must be within the past 3 years that is similar experience
- May substitute local for over-the-road experience
- Experience backing 48' to 53' trailers (including in tight spaces and to dock doors)
- This position must pass pre-hire background and drug test
- Understanding and communicating in the English language is a requirement

Responsibilities
- Transporting loads from our warehouse to the local distribution center

- Drop the load from the local distribution center to our warehouse
- Maneuvering truck and trailer safely in busy industrial environments
- Regularly checking equipment for faults or damages
- Ensuring the equipment complies with all guidelines, including weight restrictions
- Produce activity logs
- Identifying workplace safety hazards
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
