About The Position

Primarily responsible for local deliveries and occasionally overnight deliveries of finished steel coils. This role involves ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. The driver will inspect loads, maintain vehicle safety, and complete necessary documentation.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL license.
Minimum of 3 years CDL experience.
Must meet all DOT requirements.
Graduation from High School or GED equivalent.
Three (3) years of relevant experience, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
Flatbed and 48' and 53' trailer experience required.
Good driving record.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Ability to pass background and drug test.
Ability to write and read routine reports or job orders.
Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees within the organization.
Ability to speak, read and hear English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Ability to interpret documents and instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.

Nice To Haves

Steel hauling and delivery experience desired.
Employee may be required to work overtime.

Responsibilities

Delivers items by identifying destinations, establishing route, and maintaining scheduled guidelines.
Inspects load prior to departure to ensure all cargo is secured in the truck or trailer for safe and efficient travel.
Maintains safe operation of vehicle through safe driving practices.
Maintains delivery, truck, and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgments, recording tracking information, and completing driver log and truck performance forms.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
