About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978. Our primary business is standard, next-day, ground delivery, with headquarters in St. Cloud, MN. We have expanded throughout the Midwest and employ over 1,800 people. The CDL Class A Driver (Yard) is responsible for coordinating incoming trailers from branches and moving outgoing trailers as they are loaded.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards
• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Transfer incoming trailers into loading docks and move them when emptied
• Switch outbound terminal trailers once they are loaded
• Make local pick-ups in surrounding area
• Replace trailers when Transport drivers leave
• Remove empty pallets from unloaded trailers
• Coordinate unloading and loading of LTL pallets
• Communicate with warehouse management to synchronize switches
• Communicate with Heavy Duty Mechanics on maintenance and repairs
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed
