About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery, a family-owned company established in 1978, is seeking a CDL Class A Driver for Less Than Truckload (LTL) operations in Eau Claire, WI. The company's core business is standard, next-day ground delivery, with headquarters in St. Cloud, MN, and operations expanding throughout the Midwest. The CDL Class A Driver is responsible for operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck to transport and pick up palletized freight and large shipments.

Requirements

At least 21 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards.
Ability to operate a manual transmission.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
Must possess good customer service and organizational skills.
Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions.
Ability to pass a DOT physical.
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
Ability to work with all types of freight, including hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure mechanical and safety equipment are in good working order.
Submit pre-trip forms and complete mileage and maintenance documentation.
Deliver palletized freight to customers and pick up freight from shippers in a timely manner.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of all load-related documentation.
Collect payments for shipments and return bills of lading for billing.
Maintain all required DOT and company safety certifications.
Wash the exterior of the tractor and equipment daily.
Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup tasks as needed.
