About The Position

SA Recycling is a growing scrap metal recycling company looking for a CDL Class A/B Truck Driver for our night shift operations. Safety is our top priority. The Truck Driver's primary responsibility is to transport materials efficiently. This involves driving a semi-truck to customer locations to pick up loaded containers and deliver empty ones. Drivers are expected to maintain professionalism when interacting with customers and their employees, adhere to all DOT regulations, and follow in-yard rules for safe operation in confined spaces. Seat belt usage is mandatory, and drivers must remain visible on camera at all times.

Requirements

Must have 3 years of CDL Driving experience with consistent job history.
Must pass a medical DOT physical and drug test.
Must pass a background check, clean MVR with no recent violations, and consent to Clearing House.
Ability to communicate with others effectively.
Ability to understand direction (written or oral).
Ability to use basic math skills as the job demands.
Must be 21 to apply.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.
Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills.

Responsibilities

Load and unload containers hauling scrap metal.
Perform DOT daily operation and safety inspection.
Communicate with office and customers to determine commodities to load.
Work independently when driving scrap metal.
Work with customers to satisfy their needs and assist them when problems arise.
Work with other employees in the scrap metal yard to ensure a safe working environment.
Perform normal daily operation maintenance: refueling, lubrication, cooling system cleaning, and housekeeping.
Clean up work area at the end of shift.
Keep work areas neat and orderly.
Organize materials for more effective use of space.
Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner.
Ensure cleanup is completed through inspection.
Maintain effective housekeeping in the workplace area for safety and hygienic conditions.
