About The Position

We are seeking a CDL B Rear-Load Driver to operate a garbage truck on assigned residential collection routes. This role involves pulling and positioning carts, operating hydraulic controls to empty them, and collecting additional waste, recycling, and bulk items. The driver will also conduct daily vehicle inspections, use in-truck technology, haul materials to disposal facilities, and interact professionally with customers. Safety and adherence to DOT regulations are paramount.

Requirements

Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement required.
Good driving record.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment and random drug screen (including marijuana).

Nice To Haves

Minimum one year of driving experience preferred.
Waste industry or rear-load collection experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate a CDL B rear-load garbage truck on assigned residential collection routes.
Pull and position rolling carts for collection using a semi-automated lift system.
Operate hydraulic controls to safely empty carts and containers into the truck.
Exit the truck frequently to collect additional waste, recycling and bulk items.
Ride safely on the rear step between collection points as required.
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Use in-truck technology (tablet) for route management and communication.
Haul collected materials to disposal and recycling facilities.
Follow all company safety policies and DOT regulations.
Interact professionally with customers and the public.
