About The Position

This position is for a full-time Class B P&D Driver responsible for transporting, loading, and unloading freight between Service Centers and customers. The role emphasizes safe and efficient operations, customer interaction, and adherence to company procedures. Requirements

At least 22 years of age
At least 1 year of commercial driving experience
Valid Class B CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsements
Valid DOT Physical/Medical Card
No DUI, Citation/Conviction for Reckless Operation in the past 3 years
Less than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
Basic math skills
Fluent in English
Able to pass a drug screen

Responsibilities

Transporting, loading, and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner between Service Centers and customers.
Performing pre and post trip inspections on the tractor and trailer.
Properly documenting all freight control processes.
Reading and understanding maps, road signs, shipping papers, hazardous materials markings and labeling identifications.
Affixing correct placards to tractor/trailer when necessary.
Maintaining cleanliness of company vehicle.
Assisting customers in preparation of shipping papers.
Interacting and conversing with external/internal customers.
Safely operating a forklift to unload/load products when indicated and needed.
Participating in Dayton Freight’s training and improvement programs.
Being available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and/or assignments.
Adhering to the operational procedures and guidelines contained in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual.
