About The Position

The CDL B Local Delivery Truck Driver runs daily routes with frequent stops, loading packages onto hand trucks and unloading product at each stop in the order designated by the Transportation Department Manager. The driver operates in a cross-dock model, picking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery at the assigned loading dock and returning the empty truck to the assigned lot at the end of the route. The role may occasionally assist with loading trucks, palletizing product, and other duties assigned by a supervisor or manager. The position requires efficient route completion, customer-facing deliveries, safe handling of company equipment, and compliance with Department of Transportation regulations and Sysco policies. Drivers verify deliveries and obtain customer signatures, report invoice discrepancies, errors, and returns, and handle complaints professionally. Product handling involves unloading by hand or hand cart and placing items in designated customer storage areas, sometimes using ramps, stairs, or docks and working in all weather conditions.
