Summary: The CDL Rolloff Driver will be responsible for hauling Non-Hazardous waste and equipment at our Petersburg, VA Site. This includes the need to support operations during high demand times to ensure the success of the business.

Requirements

  • CDL Driver must have good driving history and pass background check.
  • CDL Driver must pass DOT drug screen, physical, and road test.
  • No automatic restrictions
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of one-year safe commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL Class B License and valid state driver’s license.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to make minor repairs is a plus (light bulbs, fuses, minor air leaks).

Responsibilities

  • Loading, unloading, and safely transporting non-hazardous materials and equipment.
  • Safe and responsible operation of assigned equipment while maintaining appearance of company equipment to meet company standards.
  • Interfacing and creating a Wow! Experience for our clients at the point of delivery.
  • Ensures maximum efficiency in achieving or exceeding established goals.
  • Provides prompt, courteous, and complete service to clients.
  • Performs complete pre and post trip inspections including, but not limited to, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, spill kit, gauges, and controls.
  • Maneuvers commercial truck safely in congested city, highway, and landfill areas.
  • Performs proper tarping of loads to prevent loss of content during transit.
  • Complies with all USDOT & FMCSA rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Must safely tarp roll-off containers ranging in size from 10 cubic yards to 40 cubic yards.
  • Communicates with and receives direction from office personnel dispatching loads.
  • Completes all required daily paperwork and vehicle inspection reports while complying with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Reads maps and or directions.
  • Thoroughly cleans up any and all spills.
  • Assists operations in investigating traffic and other truck related incidents.
  • Performs basic maintenance of commercial trucks and roll-off containers.
  • Documents and logs work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
  • Demonstrates safety conscious behaviors and attends training / safety meetings.
  • Assists with the cleaning of company facilities, equipment, and general housekeeping.
  • Reports defects, accidents, or violations and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
  • Reporting vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage before and after pickups.
  • Efficiently able to operate a manual transmission (no automatic restriction).
  • Ability to make minor repairs is a plus (light bulbs, fuses, minor air leaks).
  • Ability to identify and report equipment malfunction or damage.
