About The Position

We are currently hiring CDL-A drivers for a local Yard Jockey position in Lafayette, Indiana. This is a great opportunity for drivers looking for steady local work, home daily time, and consistent hourly pay with overtime available. This role involves local yard moves only, transporting CAT generators and engines between facilities. Drivers will use Yard Hostler, Kenworth Day Cab, and Conestoga/Flatbed equipment, with an average of 8 engine moves per day over approximately 250 yards. Load securement with straps is required.

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license
• Prior yard jockey experience within the past year OR 6 months of recent CDL-A driving experience
• Must pass yard driving test

Nice To Haves

• Flatbed experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform local yard moves only – no over-the-road driving.
• Transport CAT generators and engines between facilities.
• Average of 8 engine moves per day.
• Move up to 2 engines at a time.
• Perform load securement with straps.
• Operate Yard Hostler, Kenworth Day Cab, and Conestoga/Flatbed equipment.
