About The Position

Drive with Albany Trucking for a career that values your time on and off the road. Whether running Over-the-Road or on a Dedicated route, drivers are home every 10-14 days, or sooner if needed. Dedicated lanes offer reliable home time. Dispatchers check in daily, and drivers always know their next load before dropping the current one. The freight is no-touch, dry van, and 70% drop-and-hook. Most loads are automotive, running primarily east of I-35 with an average haul length of 500 miles. Weekly solo mileage ranges from 2,500-2,800, with some hitting 3,000+.

Requirements

CDL A license.
Equipment is never older than three years.
Fleet includes Peterbilt 579s, Internationals, and Freightliners.
All trucks come with inverters, fridges, and Qualcomm systems.
Company solo drivers are not permitted to have pets.
Immediate family members (riders) must be at least 13 years old.
Non-family riders must be 18 or older.

Nice To Haves

Lease-purchase positions allow dogs of any size with no weight restrictions.

Responsibilities

Drive trucks over the road or on dedicated routes.
Ensure daily check-ins with dispatcher.
Know the next load before dropping the current one.
Transport automotive freight primarily east of I-35.
Maintain consistent mileage of 2,500-2,800+ miles per week.
Take trucks and trailers home (ensure secure parking if not within 50 miles of a terminal).
Potentially switch from OTR to Dedicated or Local when spots open.
Train new drivers for extra pay if interested.
