About The Position

CDL A Truck Driver – OTR Dry Van Hiring Area: Milwaukee, WI. Weekly pay: $1,300–$1,450 | Home time: Every other weekend. Freight: No-touch dry van | Equipment: Automatic trucks. Drivers in this position run steady interstate freight across a multi-state network designed to keep miles consistent from week to week. Instead of rotating through constantly changing routes, this operation focuses on repeat lanes that allow drivers to settle into a predictable workflow while staying productive throughout the full run cycle. The schedule follows a 12-day operating pattern with a full 48-hour reset every other weekend. Loads are typically planned in advance, which allows drivers to move from one assignment to the next without waiting on last-minute dispatch decisions. This structure helps reduce downtime and keeps the week organized from start to finish. Freight consists primarily of dry van loads with most shipments being no-touch. A combination of drop-and-hook and live loads helps maintain steady movement, while average haul lengths support consistent weekly mileage. The goal is to keep drivers focused on miles rather than delays at customer locations. Drivers are assigned 2021 or newer Freightliner and Kenworth tractors with automatic transmission. Most trucks are equipped with APUs, inverters, and refrigerator space to support comfort during multi-day runs. Equipment is maintained through a company-supported network to minimize service interruptions and keep trucks road-ready. Weekly earnings typically range between $1,300 and $1,450 depending on miles and experience. Detention pay is provided for qualifying delays. After six months, drivers become eligible for medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan. This position works well for drivers who want a balance of steady miles, dependable home time, and equipment that supports consistent performance on the road.
