About The Position

Gordon Food Service is seeking a CDL A Transit Driver to transport loaded and empty trailers, singles or doubles, from GFS Distribution Centers or from point-to-point via night transit. This role offers night shifts, meaning you'll be home every day, with no touch freight required. Newly licensed drivers are encouraged to apply. The schedule is Sunday - Thursday, 7pm - 5am, with potential variations in start/end times. Drivers can average $95,000-105,000 annually through component pay (pay per day and per trip).

Requirements

At least 21 years of age
Class A CDL License at hire
Minimum of 2 years driving experience with your class A
Doubles (T) endorsement required
Must be able to operate a 10 speed transmission
Must be able to push and pull up to 50lbs (connecting trailers)
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork and follow verbal instructions)
Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check
Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
Must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
