Entry Level CDL-A Trainees
About The Position
American Driver offers a structured, paid training program for new drivers who have recently graduated from CDL school. This program focuses on real freight and provides real mentorship with a clear pay path from the first week. The training lasts for 4 to 6 weeks, during which trainees are paired with an experienced trainer on actual routes. The curriculum includes hands-on Class A tractor-trailer operation, ELD systems, hours-of-service compliance, pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and understanding dispatch communication and company procedures. After training, drivers will handle regional dry van freight, with weekly home time and a focus on DOT-compliant operations, including accurate ELD logs, DVIRs, and equipment inspections.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- 21 years or older
- 120+ hours from an accredited CDL school
- Clean driving record
- Pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen
Responsibilities
- Operate a Class A tractor-trailer.
- Comply with ELD systems and hours-of-service regulations.
- Perform proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch.
- Adhere to company procedures.
- Maintain current and accurate ELD logs and DVIRs.
