About The Position
Drive dedicated retail freight for FAMILY DOLLAR across the western United States. The role involves regional deliveries using 53-foot dry van trailers and requires active, hands-on work, including unloading trailers with rollers and frequent climbing in and out of trailers. Drivers are home weekly for a 34-hour reset. Start time is 6:00 AM, and shifts may last up to 14 hours. Days off vary based on freight demand and generally fall on weekdays. Drivers living in Las Vegas will typically stay out for two weeks, followed by three days at home. The posting lists average annual pay of $100,386, average weekly pay of $1,950, top annual pay of $127,000, and top weekly pay of $2,450. Compensation includes mileage pay, additional pay per load, and an opportunity for a safe and on-time mileage bonus of up to 3% of mileage pay. Company-provided equipment includes tandem-axle sleeper trucks with modern automatic transmissions and 53-foot dry van trailers.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- At least 3 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
- Clean driving record.
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- Must not be an SAP driver.
- Must be comfortable unloading freight with rollers and climbing in and out of trailers.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of active delivery work.
Responsibilities
- Deliver dedicated retail freight to customer locations across AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, NE, NV, NM, OR, UT, WA, and WY.
- Unload trailers using rollers.
- Frequently climb in and out of trailers as part of active delivery work.
- Drive company-provided sleeper trucks hauling 53-foot dry van trailers.
