About The Position

The CDL-A or CDL-B Driver at Piscataqua Landscaping plays a crucial role in our day-to-day operations, as they are responsible for safely and efficiently transporting equipment, materials, and personnel to various job sites. As an essential member of our team, the CDL-A or CDL-B Driver must uphold our commitment to quality, professionalism, and client satisfaction while adhering to all relevant safety regulations and best practices.

Requirements

  • Valid and current Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents.
  • Prior experience in operating commercial vehicles, preferably in a landscaping or construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment such as trailers and related attachments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and client interactions.
  • Physical capability to handle the demands of loading and unloading equipment and materials.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to timelines and schedules.
  • Candidates must have an insurable driving record, be able to pass a physical and drug screen.

  • Flexibility in working hours, as some early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and drive company vehicles, including trucks with a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License, while always maintaining a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Safely load, transport, and unload landscaping equipment, machinery, and materials to and from job sites, ensuring proper securement and handling.
  • Execute assigned routes and deliveries promptly to ensure efficient completion of landscaping projects and meet clients' schedules.
  • Perform routine inspections of company vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition; report any issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Complete accurate and timely records, including trip logs, vehicle inspections, and other relevant paperwork as required by the company and regulatory authorities.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations governing transportation, including but not limited to DOT regulations, weight limits, and hours of service.
  • Follow established safety guidelines and protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Coordinate with the landscaping team to ensure efficient and smooth operations, providing clear communication on transportation-related matters.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients or the public while representing Piscataqua Landscaping.
  • Optimize transportation routes and methods to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize productivity.
