About The Position

Our client is hiring CDL-A drivers for a dedicated local grocery account running out of Perryville, Maryland. Freight on this fleet is grocery, driver load and unload with pallet jacks, running Pennsylvania, New York (Staten Island) and New Jersey, returning to the distribution center. This is a home-daily position, so you sleep in your own bed every night. It suits drivers who want the earnings of a dedicated account without the time away from home. Average earnings on this account run $1,792 per week, approximately $93,203 annualized.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Minimum of 3 months of verifiable CDL-A driving experience.
  • Meet all Department of Transportation qualification requirements.
  • Hold a current DOT medical certification.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record and safety history.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Comply with all federal testing requirements.
  • Physical capability to perform freight handling, including repeated lifting, climbing in and out of the trailer, and sustained activity across a full shift.
  • Hiring within 45 miles of Perryville, MD.
  • Reliable transportation (trucks cannot be taken home).

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and legally at all times.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Monitor hours of service and keep logs accurate and current.
  • Transport freight on schedule across Pennsylvania, New York (Staten Island) and New Jersey, returning to the distribution center.
  • Follow assigned routes and plan fuel and rest stops sensibly.
  • Communicate proactively with fleet manager regarding weather, traffic, or customer delays.
  • Load and unload trailers using pallet jacks.
  • Represent the client professionally at customer locations.
  • Maintain the condition and cleanliness of assigned equipment.
  • Report mechanical issues promptly.
