About The Position
Drive a local intermodal container operation based in Chicago, Illinois. Routes travel throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, and Indiana. Drop-and-hook freight is common, especially on night shifts, although some live loads and live unloads are involved. Chicago traffic and out-of-state driving are part of the job. Drivers are home daily and travel approximately 1,800 miles per week. Estimated weekly pay is $1,200–$1,400. Day and night shifts are available, and holiday work may be required when scheduled.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Experienced, first-seat driver.
- Clean driving record.
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- Drivers with SAP are not eligible.
Responsibilities
- Operate a truck in a local intermodal container operation.
- Drive routes throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, and Indiana.
- Handle drop-and-hook freight and some live loads and live unloads.
- Drive in Chicago traffic and out of state.
