CDL A Local Grocery Delivery Driver - Day Shift

American Driver•Chester, NY
•$83,600 - $87,600•Onsite

About The Position

We are hiring local CDL A drivers based out of Chester, NY. Most grocery jobs throw new drivers straight into city traffic. Here you learn the Hudson Valley first, and you only run New York City after 6 months on the account and training with a certified NYC trainer. Drivers will be home every day with local routes within 250 miles of Chester. The freight consists of fresh and frozen groceries in 48 to 53 foot reefer trailers to supermarkets and distribution centers. The delivery area includes the Hudson Valley, New Jersey and Connecticut, with Long Island and NYC after training, plus backhauls that can reach into Pennsylvania. Drivers will typically handle 2 loads a day or one long load, with about 15 or more stops per week. Backhauls involve picking up return product at the last stop or a backhaul to the distribution center. Drivers may also assist nearby accounts 2 to 3 days per week, where unloading with a pallet jack may be required (training provided).
