About The Position

Clemens Food Group is hiring Live Haul Drivers to safely transport livestock from local farms to our food production facility. This position offers consistent work, competitive activity-based pay, and the opportunity to join a supportive team that prioritizes safety, animal welfare, and reliable service. As a Live Haul Driver, you will operate a tractor-trailer with a livestock trailer, work directly with farmers and dispatch, and play an essential role in keeping our operations running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A
  • Air brake endorsement
  • At least one year of tractor-trailer driving experience
  • Safe driving history and acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Ability to meet all DOT and company driver qualification requirements
  • Ability to safely operate a manual or automatic tractor-trailer, depending on assigned equipment
  • Ability to read, understand, and complete transportation documents and inspection reports
  • Ability to communicate clearly with dispatch, farmers, and facility personnel
  • Willingness to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a tractor-trailer and livestock trailer between farms and Clemens Food Group facilities
  • Travel to assigned farms and load live pigs according to established safety and animal-welfare procedures
  • Maintain control of the vehicle, trailer, and livestock throughout the transportation process
  • Safely and efficiently unload livestock upon arrival
  • Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Identify and report equipment defects, maintenance concerns, or safety issues
  • Verify that invoices, transportation documents, and other required paperwork are accurate and complete
  • Communicate professionally with dispatchers, farmers, plant personnel, and other drivers
  • Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, biosecurity procedures, and animal-handling standards
  • Keep assigned equipment clean, secure, and in safe operating condition
  • Respond appropriately to changing routes, weather conditions, farm schedules, and plant operating needs
