About The Position

Steel and Pipe Supply is hiring CDL-A Regional Flatbed Drivers to haul steel products from our Jonesburg, Missouri facility. Drivers do not have to live in Jonesburg. Loads are picked up in Jonesburg, but drivers may be based in Columbia, St. Louis, or surrounding areas as long as they have access to approved, secure truck parking. This is a regional position offering excellent earning potential and home time. Drivers could be out up to five nights per week, but typically are out only 1–2 nights per week.

Requirements

Valid CDL-A
Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate
Acceptable motor vehicle record
Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards
Ability to safely secure flatbed loads using chains and straps
Ability to tarp loads as required
Ability to safely handle the physical demands associated with flatbed driving
Strong communication skills
Commitment to Safety, Accountability, Integrity, and Responsibility

Nice To Haves

2 years of CDL driving experience
1 year of flatbed experience
High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

Safely operate tractor/trailer equipment
Secure loads using chains, straps, and other approved securement devices
Tarp and protect loads when required
Complete shipping and delivery paperwork accurately and on time
Follow DOT regulations and company safety requirements
Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Maintain HOS, DVIRs, proof of deliveries, fuel receipts, and other required records
Communicate with supervisors, sales, customers, and our transportation network
Promptly report accidents, incidents, equipment concerns, and safety issues
Help ensure cargo arrives safely and securely at its destination
