CDL-A Driver

LOVINGCharlotte, NC
$23 - $28Onsite

About The Position

LOVING is a landscape, hardscape, sod, and outdoor living company serving residential and commercial clients across the Carolinas. We operate in Charlotte, the Triad, Raleigh, Greenville, Columbia, and Asheville. We build the outdoor spaces people actually live in. Patios, retaining walls, sod installs, full outdoor living builds, from the ground up and at scale. Thousands of installs a year. Millions of square feet of sod. Crews running across active job sites every day in every market. Behind every one of those finished yards is a logistics operation that keeps the whole thing moving. Every paver, every pallet of sod, every piece of equipment touches a truck before it touches a job site. That's where this role lives, and that's why it matters. LOVING crews can't build what they don't have. Sod, pavers, gravel, equipment, all of it has to be at the right job site, at the right time, every single day. If the delivery is late, the crew waits. If the load shifts, everyone has a problem. If the truck's not road-ready, the whole day stalls. LOVING is looking for a CDL-A Driver who takes that personally. This role is for someone who runs a clean route, takes it personally when something's not right, and doesn't need someone managing every step of the day. You show up, you run your truck, you keep the operation moving.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL-A license and a clean three-year MVR.
  • At least two years of Moffett experience placing materials on active job sites where the margin for error is small.
  • Confidence hauling heavy materials on a flatbed, including proper loading, weight balance, tie-downs, and securement.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a DOT physical and DOT compliance throughout employment.
  • Comfort working in real conditions: heat, cold, rain, mud, uneven ground, tight job site access, and days that don't always go as planned.
  • The kind of self-management where you run your route, solve problems in the field, and keep the day on track without someone steering you through it.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
  • Experience coordinating multi-stop deliveries across a metro area on a production schedule

Responsibilities

  • Keep crews building. Get materials and equipment to LOVING job sites across the Charlotte area on time and in good condition. Coordinate with dispatch, stay ahead of the schedule, and make sure no crew is waiting on a delivery to start their day.
  • Run a tight truck. Complete a thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspection every single shift. The crew, the schedule, and the customer are all depending on this truck being road-ready. This isn't a formality. It's the foundation of a clean day.
  • Operate a Moffett on active job sites. Place materials exactly where the crew needs them, making sound decisions that protect the cargo, the equipment, and the people working around you. Tight spaces, uneven ground, and active crews are part of the job, not the exception.
  • Load and secure flatbed cargo properly on every run. Weight distribution, tie-downs, and route planning are non-negotiable. They protect the load, the truck, and LOVING's reputation on every site you pull into. A load done right is invisible, and that's the standard.
  • Keep documentation clean. Logs, delivery records, and vehicle notes should be accurate and current every day. Good paperwork protects the driver, protects the company, and keeps LOVING's compliance standing where it needs to be.
  • Communicate proactively. Confirm delivery windows, flag delays before they become problems, and keep dispatch, crew leads, and site contacts informed. The drivers people rely on most are the ones who communicate before they're asked, not after something goes sideways.
  • Report vehicle issues early. Before they become breakdowns in the field, before they strand a crew, before they cost everyone a day. Keeping the truck running is part of keeping the operation running.
  • Step in where you're needed. Some days the job goes beyond this list. When the TEAM needs a hand, you're there. That's just how this TEAM runs.

Benefits

  • Pay: $23.00 to $28.00 per hour, based on experience.
  • Full-time, year-round. This is not seasonal or contract work. This is a career.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company contribution.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • LOVING truck, fully equipped. You're driving our rig. We keep it maintained, fueled, and ready to roll.
  • Training, certifications, and development.
  • A real path forward. We promote from within whenever we can.
  • A TEAM that shows up for each other.
