About The Position

CrossCountry Freight Solutions (CCFS) is seeking a Class A driver with a passion for customer service and a safety-first mindset. This Route Delivery Driver position involves operating a company motor vehicle to transfer freight safely and efficiently to and from specified locations by a specified time. The role includes unloading, sorting, palletizing, and reloading a wide variety of freight, manually or with mechanical assistance. All required paperwork must be completed according to government regulations and company policies. The route runs from Denver to Pueblo and back, involving doubles with 48 ft trailers, dropping and hooking sets. Upon return to Denver, the driver transitions to local P&D (pickup and delivery) duties, including spot/pick moves, small volume P&D routes (3-6 stops), and handling larger LTL orders.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • At least 21 years of age
  • 1 year of commercial driving experience
  • No DUI’s or DWI’s (in the past 3 years)
  • No more than 3 traffic violations (in the past 3 years)
  • Must have Hazmat and Tanker endorsements currently

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Company motor vehicle to transfer freight safely and efficiently to and from specified locations by a specified time.
  • Unload, sort, palletize, and reload a wide variety of freight, manually or with the aid of a mechanical device.
  • Complete all paperwork required by government regulations and Company procedures/policies.
  • Operate doubles with 48 ft trailers from DEN to PUB, dropping a set and hooking a set to return from PUB to DEN.
  • Transition to local P&D upon arrival back to Denver.
  • Perform spot/pick moves.
  • Run small volume P&D routes, typically 3-6 stops per long box and volume pick ups.
  • Handle volume pick up/delivery consisting of larger LTL orders.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Deliver and/or pick up freight to/from customer locations and/or a terminal as instructed by dispatch or the immediate supervisor.
  • Ensure all shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and appropriate paperwork accompanies the shipment to the delivery point.
  • Load and/or unload a wide variety of freight onto and off a company motor vehicle, at customer locations and at the terminal, with or without mechanical assistance depending on the size of freight.
  • Hook and unhook various commercial combinations.
  • Manually lower and raise landing gear.
  • Operate fifth wheel release levers.
  • Lock and release pintle-hooks.
  • Attach and release safety chains.
  • Open and close cargo doors.
  • Climb into and out of vehicles.
  • Fuel and check oil/coolant levels of vehicles.
