Requirements

• Valid CDL (Class A) with a clean driving record.
• 2-5 years of commercial driving experience.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
• Ability to strap own load.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience pulling doubles is a plus but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and lugger trucks, in compliance with traffic laws and regulations.
• Load and secure scrap metal materials onto the truck, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe transportation.
• Plan and follow designated delivery routes, considering traffic, road closures, and efficiency to minimize travel time.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery logs, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and clients.
• Handle scrap metal materials in an environmentally responsible manner, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Maintain effective communication with dispatch and operations teams.
