About The Position

American Driver is hiring CDL A Drivers in Decatur, AL. This position is designed for individuals who have their CDL but lack professional driving experience. The role offers a comprehensive paid training program, consistent miles, and a predictable schedule. Drivers will haul dry van freight with a focus on drop and hook loads, primarily on Eastern lanes. Requirements

• Class A CDL required.
• Must be 21 or older.
• 120+ hours of instruction from an accredited truck driving school required to qualify for paid training.
• No serious violations in the past 3 years.
• No DUI within the last 5 years.
• Must pass hair follicle and urine drug screening.

Nice To Haves

• Experience driving solo after training completion.
• Familiarity with Eastern lanes and freight volume.

Responsibilities

• Haul dry van freight with no touching required.
• Perform heavy drop and hook operations (approximately 60% of runs).
• Consistently drive 2,200–2,500 miles every week.
• Operate on Eastern lanes with reliable, year-round volume.
• Adhere to predictable dispatch with minimal dead time.
• Participate in a 4-6 week paid training program.
• Learn and utilize ELD and logbooks.
• Conduct customer interactions and vehicle inspections.
