About The Position

This role involves driving a truck to various destinations, distributing receipts for loads, and occasionally collecting payments. The driver will maintain a truck log according to regulations, communicate with supervisors for delivery instructions, and load/unload the truck as needed. A key part of the role is inspecting truck equipment and supplies, and securing cargo during transit. Successful candidates are motivated, eager to provide high customer service, and possess the necessary skills and experience for over-the-road driving.

Requirements

Must be CDL A Licensed
Must pass Driver's Testing
Must pass DOT Physical / Drug Testing
Minimum one year of experience after CDL school.
Current and active Class A Driver’s license with good driving record
No license restrictions highly preferred
Proficient in reading and writing English
Capable of working in a physically demanding work environment which includes bending; stretching; pushing, pulling and lifting a MINIMUM of 75 LBS; and extensive fast-paced walking in all weather conditions throughout the year
Knowledge of basic math, ability to read and write the English language, and map reading skills

Nice To Haves

Previous over the road experience.
Previous experience operating a Moffett and boom truck highly preferred
Previous warehouse experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

Drives truck to destination.
Distributes receipts for load picked up.
Occasionally collects payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges.
Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
Maintains telephone and / or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
Loads and unloads truck as needed.
Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
