CDL A Company Driver - Local - Flatbed, Steel
About The Position
Kim-Tam Logistics, a division of Samuel, Son & Co., has been providing flatbed services and cross-border transport across North America since 1964. They specialize in supporting the metals and construction industries with a focus on safety, service, and long-term stability. This local company driver position involves hauling steel and industrial products using a commercial tractor-trailer combination, specifically a tandem spread axle Conestoga flatbed trailer. Drivers will secure loads with straps and chains, deliver safely and on time to customers across the US, and handle necessary paperwork and communication with dispatch.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating commercial tractor-trailer combinations of 48/53 feet
- Detailed knowledge of DOT/FMSCA safety standards
- Possess a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets safety and insurance standards, with no disqualifying violations in the past 36 months as determined by company policy and applicable regulations.
- Compliance with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse, including a clear record with no violations prohibiting operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 6 months tandem flatbed or Conestoga experience strongly preferred
- Experience hauling steel or oversized freight strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Haul steel and industrial products locally while operating a commercial tractor trailer combination, specifically a tandem spread axle Conestoga flatbed trailer
- Secure loads with straps and chains — NO tarping!
- Deliver safely and on time to customers across the US
- Handle paperwork and communicate with dispatch as needed
