Community Development administers all adopted land use regulations and policies, building and construction codes, and fire safety and prevention codes and guidelines for the unincorporated areas of Utah County. Administration of such codes, regulations, and policies includes land use ordinance creation and maintenance, permit and license plan reviews and inspections, and education and compliance efforts. Under general guidance and supervision of the Senior Planner, performs professional administrative duties coordinating the planning, implementation, and compliance oversight of Utah County’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) entitlement program. Serves as the County’s primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) on federal community development regulations, exercising a high degree of independent judgment to ensure all funded activities align strictly with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines, federal laws, and County objectives.
