About The Position

The CCU Registered Nurse provides specialized care to patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries who require intensive monitoring and support. The role involves assessing patients, administering medications and treatments, operating life support equipment, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to support optimal patient outcomes. This is a full-time day-shift position at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama, with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply and are discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintenance of current certification.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintenance of current certification.
• At least one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a Critical Care Course.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient and family teaching, as well as activities of other nursing personnel, while maintaining CCU standards of care.
• Remain responsible and accountable for care provided to assigned patients.
• Communicate changes in a patient's clinical condition to the physician, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal results, and symptoms.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Administer medications and treatments, operate life support equipment, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to support patient outcomes.
