About The Position

Critical Care Transport Respiratory Therapists provide advanced respiratory care and direct patient care during interfacility ambulance transports. Working alongside specially trained EMTs and other healthcare professionals, CCT RTs care for critically ill and medically complex patients, including those requiring mechanical ventilation and other advanced respiratory support. Our team is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and modern technology to support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout transport.

Requirements

  • California Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of ER or ICU experience within the past 18 months
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA ACLS
  • AHA PALS

  • Previous respiratory therapy experience -1year

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and professional respiratory care throughout patient transport.
  • Provide direct care to patients requiring mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory support.
  • Serve as a patient advocate and represent Premier Ambulance professionally in all settings.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, treatment protocols, company policies, and CCT program standards.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of treatment protocols, response requirements, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Monitor patients and recognize changes in clinical condition, responding appropriately to emergent situations.
  • Communicate effectively with receiving facilities, healthcare professionals, the Nurse Manager, and members of the transport team.
  • Report significant changes in patient condition, unusual occurrences, and other concerns promptly.
  • Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and the ability to manage unexpected or complex situations.
  • Prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining patient safety and quality of care.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive patient information.
