Requirements

  • Idaho Paramedic License or Compact/Replica state compliant; NREMT-P highly recommended
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS/ITLS required
  • Minimum 3 years ALS experience, with at least 1 year critical care or flight transport experience preferred
  • Proven mastery in airway management, ventilator operation, vasoactive medication titration, and critical decision-making
  • A growth-oriented mindset, teamwork, and commitment to excellence
  • Clean driving record and flexibility for varying shifts
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment or deployment.

Nice To Haves

  • FP-C, CCP-C, or CCEMT-P certification preferred (or completed within 6 months of hire)
  • Advanced heart failure management through IABP/Impella preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver critical care transport for high-acuity patients, managing advanced ventilatory, hemodynamic, and pharmacologic support in coordination with sending/receiving facilities.
  • Provide BLS/ALS transport services while partnering with an EMT crew member in between critical care calls.
  • Apply advanced clinical judgment under the oversight of standing orders and direct medical control.
  • Operate as part of a Critical Care Team (Paramedic + RN or CC Paramedic + Paramedic), maintaining clear, disciplined communication in high-stakes environments.
  • Uphold Ascent's uncompromising standards of safety, documentation, and professionalism.
  • Participate in QA/QI initiatives, case reviews, and continuing education to ensure clinical excellence.
