About The Position

Metropolitan Family Services (MFS) is seeking a Counselor to join their team at the Merrionette Park Office. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Counseling or related field from an accredited college or university, required.
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), required.
  • Requires mobility to work with a community-based caseload.
  • Ability to maintain assigned community and home-based services.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Satisfactorily pass all relevant screening and criminal background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience working in the mental health field with clients across the lifespan, preferred.
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), preferred.
  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or experience working with clients experiencing substance use, preferred.
  • IM+CANS certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs comprehensive, in-depth assessment and clinical formulation, development of accurate diagnosis and strength-based treatment plans for CCBHC services.
  • Performs open access as assigned.
  • Provides individual/group therapy, crisis intervention, and case management services, adhering to CCBHC and MRO/Medicaid rehabilitation service models.
  • Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions, advocacy, skill-building, and related services.
  • Provides evidence-based treatment interventions per training and certifications.
  • Learns and utilizes agency and community resources.
  • Assesses community conditions affecting clients to identify resource gaps and problems.
  • Works with multidisciplinary professionals including psychiatrists, nurses, and community agencies to provide a continuum of coordinated care to meet the complex needs of clients.
  • Provide on-call or in-person crisis intervention services when necessary.
  • Recommends financial assistance for clients.
  • May serve on regional or agency-wide committees.
  • Meets agency expectation for quantity of direct service and maintains quality and fidelity to evidence-based practices.
  • Maintains timely and accurate client records and any necessary agency and CCBHC required reporting.
  • Participates in agency and site based required meetings and trainings.
  • Works effectively with diverse staff and service population.
  • Other duties as assigned.
