We are currently looking to fill a Client Engagement Specialist role at our Merrionette Park Center.

Requirements

  • Requires mobility to work with a community-based caseload.
  • Ability to maintain assigned community and home-based services.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Eligibility for, or possession of, the Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) credential.
  • IM+CANS certification.
  • Satisfactorily pass all relevant screening and criminal background checks.
  • Schedule will include some evenings, weekends, and possible on-call.
  • Driving for work required with transportation of clients preferred in a personally owned vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or experience working with clients experiencing substance use preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting IM+CANS assessments and implementing treatment plans.
  • Performs open access as assigned.
  • Provides case management, supports financial budgeting, assists with public benefits (Social Security, Medicaid), counseling, advocacy, health education and community support services.
  • Identifies practical barriers like housing instability, lack of transportation, or food insecurity that prevent clients from attending appointments.
  • Learns and utilizes agency and community resources.
  • Assesses community conditions affecting clients to identify resource gaps and problems.
  • Provides individual and group counseling, and skills training.
  • Responds to client and family needs outside of scheduled sessions, including during crises.
  • Works with multidisciplinary professionals and community agencies to provide a continuum of coordinated care to meet the complex needs of clients.
  • Coordinates care with family members, internal providers (medical, dental, SA/DV), and external partners such as schools, DCFS, hospitals, and community organizations.
  • May serve on regional or agency-wide committees.
  • Meets agency expectation for quantity of direct service and maintains quality and fidelity to evidence-based practices.
  • Maintains timely and accurate client records and any necessary agency and CCBHC required reporting.
  • Participates in agency and site based required meetings and trainings.
  • Works effectively with diverse staff and service population.
  • Other duties as assigned.
