The CBU Janitor – Nights is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly facility to support daily warehouse operations. This role performs a wide range of janitorial and custodial duties, including cleaning floors, removing trash, sanitizing work areas, and ensuring all building spaces meet cleanliness and safety standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail‑oriented, and committed to creating a clean and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • No prior experience or formal training required — we provide on‑the‑job training.
  • Must be reliable, detail‑oriented, and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull 50–60 pounds as part of routine cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, climb, and move continuously throughout the shift.
  • Must be comfortable performing repetitive motions and working in physically active environments.
  • Expected to wear appropriate PPE (gloves, safety shoes, safety glasses, etc.) as required.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for employees.
  • Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and recyclables throughout the facility.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors to uphold cleanliness standards across all building areas.
  • Follow established procedures for chemical cleaners, disinfectants, and power‑cleaning equipment to prevent damage to floors, fixtures, and surfaces.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water, detergents, and other agents according to required specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Strip, seal, wax, and polish floors as needed to maintain a professional and well‑kept appearance.
  • Inspect facilities and report maintenance concerns or the need for major repairs to management promptly.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces using appropriate tools such as squeegees, sponges, and approved cleaning solutions.
