About The Position

Leidos is currently sourcing candidates for a CBRNE Analyst to support Security Engineering Programs (SEP) in Washington, DC. The CBRNE Analyst will serve in a multidiscipline role, providing direct feedback on the current and future state of a well-established network of detection and identification instrumentation. Utilizing extensive experience in detection and identification technologies, successful candidate will assess new instrumentation, analyze data, and provide recommendations on current efficacy and future improvements. Successful candidate will interface with equipment manufacturers and applications scientists to develop standards and validation processes for fixed site detection and identification networks. Candidate will assess function of current instrumentation to ensure equipment health and high-level operational readiness and perform research and analysis to diagnose unexplained changes. The CBRNE Analyst will track long-term trends among different instrument types to establish baseline metrics and develop requirements for automated tools to help quickly identify malfunctions. Utilizing their extensive experience with analytics, candidate will identify hardware depreciation and recommend options to minimize diminishing returns. Candidate will conduct or contribute to market analysis to assess replacement hardware when necessary. The CBRNE Analyst will provide project oversite for vendor agreements which require in depth understanding of instrument functionality. Candidate will communicate with vendor engineers to explain instrument discrepancies and will establish service procedures and reports. Candidate will assess manufacturer recommendations and corrective actions and provide feedback on service agreement value and benefits. The CBRNE Analyst will interface directly with customer representatives in training, recommendations, analysis documentation, and addressing instrument network analysis discrepancies. Candidate will create and provide training as required, produce white papers and reports, contribute to SOP development, and organize and execute experiments to validate root cause and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or Engineering with 8+ years’ experience.
  • Must have an active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Candidate must be able to follow written and oral instructions without supervision.
  • Ability to work independently developing and executing training, experiments, recommendations, and Operating procedures.
  • A valid driver’s license or the ability to meet the transportation requirements of this position.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, time management, and execution management.
  • Technical experience with electronic service management software.
  • Basic networking experience.
  • Technical experience in analytical Chemistry, Biology, or Radiological science.

Nice To Haves

  • Past military experience in working with Chemical, Biological and Radiological equipment
  • Operational familiarity with Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry, Fourier Transform Infrared, Electro-Chemical reactive sensors, Fluorescence, Scintillation, Radiological aerosol analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in Data Analytics
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems including pneumatics
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in directing workforce and managing expenditures
