About The Position

The CBI Lead Facilitator is responsible for supporting incarcerated individuals in reducing their risk of recidivism by delivering evidence-based group and individual interventions, including MRT and Interactive Journaling, within correctional facilities, including the Monroe County Correctional Facility. In addition, the Lead Facilitator provides coordination, guidance, and oversight to ensure fidelity to Cognitive Behavioral Intervention models, accuracy of documentation, and effective management of program resources.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in a behavioral or social science program from an accredited college or university, required
  • Minimum three years experience in counseling, case management or a similar field
  • Clean NYS Drivers License
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with people who have been incarcerated, preferred
  • Experience facilitating Cognitive based Interventions, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assess participant referrals for program eligibility and risk of recidivism
  • Conduct intake assessments for eligible referrals
  • Facilitate individualized psychoeducational sessions
  • Facilitate Cognitive Behavioral Intervention groups using the Moral Reconation Therapy and Interactive Journaling models in a correctional setting
  • Facilitate one-on-one Cognitive Behavioral Interventions using the Interactive Journaling model
  • Proper use of eJustice including COMPAS and any other platforms as designated by Program Director
  • Provide guidance and support to CBI Facilitators to ensure consistency and fidelity to program models (MRT, Interactive Journaling, and related curricula)
  • Serve as a resource for program-related questions and assist in addressing facilitation or participant-related challenges
  • Oversee and ensure accurate, timely, and complete documentation in systems such as eJustice/COMPAS
  • Monitor program data, case notes, and reporting to ensure compliance with VOAUPNY policies and contractual requirements
  • Coordinate the tracking and procurement of program materials and supplies, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines
  • Monitor and support the appropriate tracking and utilization of MWBE-related funding in accordance with program and contract requirements
  • Support ongoing program quality assurance through review of group activities, documentation, and reporting
  • Promote program offerings to incarcerated individuals and correctional facility staff
  • Maintain strong collaborative relationships with correctional facility staff
  • Develop and sustain effective, supportive relationships with program participants
  • Maintain detailed case notes and records, ensuring all VOAUPNY and contractual obligations are met
  • Maintain accurate records of all group activities
  • Complete required reports in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director or designee
