This recruitment is to fill multiple part-time Student Technical Assistant positions for the School of Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Engineering (CBEE) at Oregon State University (OSU). These positions are based on lab group needs and vary from 3-20 hours per week, depending on the workload and assignment. Duties will be determined by a supervisor and may include book reviews, publication research, experimentation in a laboratory setting, laboratory set-up and maintenance, data collection and analysis, and other related tasks. Specific duties will vary based on funding and research topic. This role involves working in a chemical laboratory, performing chemical reactions, chemical analyses, instrument operation, general cleanup, chemical purchasing, and potentially writing reports and presentations. Computer modeling and working with hazardous chemicals and/or materials may also be involved. Sample preparation for testing, data management, and experiment analysis are key components. The position requires the use of common lab equipment such as microscopes, scales, measurement devices, testing machines, power saws, and data collection systems.
