About The Position

This position is responsible for managing Government Furnished Property (GFP), Individual Material Readiness List (IMRL), Support Equipment Resource Management Information System (SERMIS), Contractor Owned Property (COP), Employee Owned Personal Property (EOPP), and Employee Owned Personal Tools (EOPT) and their associated records. The role requires adherence to applicable government instructions, manufacturer's manuals, and company procedures. The manager will coordinate procurement, inventory control, movement of critical assets, and manage material storage, issuance, and ordering. Responsibilities also include maintaining records, preparing equipment for repair or disposal, coordinating the issue and return of tools, managing the Missing, Lost, Stolen, and Recovery (MLSR) Program, and engraving/tagging equipment. The role involves visual inspection of tools and equipment, making minor repairs, ensuring purchases comply with property control procedures, and coordinating adjustments for GFP. Additional duties include parts runs, document delivery, technical research, managing consumable material levels, retrieving repairable retrograde items, ensuring inventory control security, expediting urgent requirements, and handling correspondence. The position may involve duties of an Aeronautical Material Screening Unit (AMSU) Clerk or Tool and Parts, completing daily timecards, adhering to Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention and Tool Control regulations, maintaining work area cleanliness, complying with safety and environmental regulations, performing basic computer input, potentially serving as a HAZMAT/HazWaste Custodian, assisting with equipment security, sharing technical knowledge, and performing other directed duties. The role may require a respirator physical, initiating reports under the Naval Aviation Maintenance Discrepancy Reporting Program (NAMDRP), assisting in investigations of defective material, handling hazardous materials, attending meetings/training, assisting in searches for lost tools, operating a forklift, and potentially working at NAS Corpus Christi. A government Common Access Card (CAC) and required Security Clearance must be obtained and maintained.

Requirements

  • Must have five (5) years experience in aviation supply/inventory procedures with knowledge and experience in Naval Aviation Supply System, Individual Material Readiness List (IMRL), Support Equipment Resource Management Information System (SERMIS), Government Furnished Property (GFP), control records and accountability as related to Organizational and Intermediate Level Maintenance.
  • Must demonstrate sound arithmetic skills.
  • Must have practical knowledge of a wide range of common and specialized aircraft tools and Support Equipment.
  • Must be knowledgeable in mechanized operations as they apply to Inventory Control.
  • Have the knowledge and manual dexterity required to make minor repairs to hand tools.
  • Must be able to type accurately thirty (30) words per minute.
  • Must have a valid state operator's license and be able to pass the government licensing requirements for support equipment and forklifts.
  • Obtain and maintain all applicable GSE Licenses.
  • Must become familiar with Company and Government Environmental, Health and Safety, Quality Control and Property Control policies and procedures and local operating procedures within sixty (60) days of date of hire or assignment to position.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.
  • Knowledge of materials used and safety precautions as applicable to usage.
  • Familiarization with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790 .2 series, CNATRA 13650.1 series, Missing, Lost, Stolen, Recovered (MLSR) Program, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other applicable Navy instructions, maintenance instruction manuals, IPB's, manufacturer's manuals and company instructions as required for the performance of job.
  • Must have the ability to accurately carry out written and verbal orders, instructions and directives.
  • May be required to perform duties of Aeronautical Material Screening Unit (AMSU) Clerk and/or Tool and Parts Clerk.
  • May be required to perform duties of HAZMAT/HazWaste Custodian or Assistant Custodian when authorized and designated.
  • May be required to perform simple computer input and extraction functions.
  • May be required to pass a respirator physical.
  • May be required to operate a forklift.
  • May be temporarily assigned to work at NAS Corpus Christi.
  • Must be able to obtain a government Common Access Card (CAC) within six (6) months and maintain the required Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all procurement actions pertaining to commercial and government furnished property.
  • Deliver equipment requiring test, repair or calibration to the applicable destination.
  • Coordinate inventory and control of all government owned, company owned and employee owned property, tools and test equipment and maintain inventory records.
  • Coordinate all movement required in support of assigned critical assets as directed by the Production or Site Managers.
  • Store, issue, and order materials.
  • Maintain all assigned mechanically produced equipment.
  • Prepare tool/equipment for repair/disposal.
  • Coordinate the issue and return to stock all tools and special equipment.
  • Coordinate Missing, Lost, Stolen, and Recovery (MLSR) Program as required.
  • Engrave, etch, tag or mark tools and equipment as necessary.
  • Visually inspect tools and equipment for wear or defects and report damaged and worn-out equipment and make minor repairs to tools as directed.
  • Ensure material, supplies and equipment are purchased/requisitioned in accordance with approved property control procedures.
  • Coordinate adjustments to allowances for Government Furnished Property and compile usage data for periodic excessing review.
  • Make scheduled/unscheduled parts runs.
  • Pick-up and deliver documentation, reports and related mail to the appropriate destination.
  • Perform technical research utilizing publications, bulletins, catalogs and directives.
  • Perform phase kit/related consumable material level adjustments as directed.
  • Retrieve repairable retrograde.
  • Ensure security of inventory control.
  • Coordinate expediting effort for urgent requirements.
  • Type, route and file correspondence and related documentation.
  • Accurately complete and sign individual employee daily timecards.
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention and Tool Control rules and regulations including participation in FOD walkdowns when directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area.
  • Comply with established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job.
  • Maintain appropriate records of all work accomplished.
  • Comply with established Hazardous Material/Waste Programs and Local, State, and Federal Environmental Protection Agency regulations.
  • Perform simple computer input and extraction functions.
  • Assist when directed to ensure safety, security and preservation of government owned and company owned equipment and property.
  • Share technical knowledge with other company employees to enhance accomplishment of assigned tasks.
  • Perform other duties when directed.
  • Initiate reports required under the Naval Aviation Maintenance Discrepancy Reporting Program (NAMDRP).
  • When directed, assist management in investigating reports of defective material, workmanship or work sites incidents.
  • Required to handle hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties.
  • Attend meetings/training when directed.
  • Assist in the search for lost tools/items when directed.
