About The Position

This position of CB Entry Operator is responsible for all operating functions as listed below. Operation of the continuous build line must be understood in total with the focus of utilizing the equipment to meet all the quality and productivity goals as outlined in our quality system. All work instructions must be followed as outlined.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Degree or Equivalent (GED).
  • Mobility in plant.
  • While performing the duties of (this job), the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, etc.
  • The employee is frequently required to make use of their hands for technical tasks.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual ability with or without correction.
  • Communication abilities.
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
  • Follow Company safety rules.
  • Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager immediately.
  • Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or worn: Safety shoes, Safety glasses, Hearing protection, Hard Hat.
  • Some areas may require additional personal protective equipment such as: Respirators; the respirator requires you to be clean shaven in order to comply with company policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations.
  • Fire Retardant clothing.
  • Acid PPE.
  • Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy.
  • Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines.
  • Must follow all Environmental Policies and Regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
  • Abiding by the Acerinox Code of Conduct.
  • Keeping oneself informed through your company email account.
  • Maintaining your Dynamic Policy Profile and all assigned learnings therein.
  • Abiding by all security procedures.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to learn, adapt, and retain information.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Check schedule of coils to be run to insure correct coil is on the line.
  • Load the coils in sequential order to the schedule.
  • Inspect all coils for incoming abnormalities (loose lap/telescope) and enter an AQNS if an abnormality is present.
  • For head leader, place leader on process line prior to threading the coil. Thread the coil and leader to the welder. Cut off scrap if necessary; weld the leader to the head of the coil.
  • For tail leader, tail out the coil to the welder. Place the tail leader on the process line. Weld the tail leader to the tail of the coil.
  • Remove all scrap from around welders and shears.
  • Dump all entry scrap carts.
  • Restock all welder consumables as needed.
  • Monitor coils in line for defects and side wall accuracy at the exit reel, correct as necessary.
  • If defects are seen, enter an AQNS for that coil with detailed notes. (Defect type, location on the strip, approximate start/stop footage).
  • Follow all prescribed safety rules.
  • Housekeeping/maintenance work as assigned.
  • CB entry OP is to be trained on AP4 entry. The CB entry OP is to work at AP4 entry as needed/scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Participation in relevant continuous improvement programs.
