About The Position

The Caulking Crew Foreperson will work concurrently with the crew to complete jobs while supervising the work. This role is responsible for ensuring safety policies are followed, training and mentoring crew members, and providing work direction. The Foreperson will also be responsible for daily logging of crew hours for payroll accuracy, representing the company effectively on and off job sites, and communicating with general contractors and sub-contractors. This position requires implementing company policies to ensure compliance with ISO, OSHA, and DOT standards, completing new hire paperwork for union members when necessary, and providing daily reports via tablet. The Foreperson will also contribute to project pre-planning, follow field plans, keep supervisors informed of progress and completion dates, and communicate resource issues promptly. Key responsibilities include verifying caulk details, reviewing plans, completing estimates and take-offs, ordering materials, and completing caulking in a systematic and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Two years minimum of precast caulking experience
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to use construction mensuration equipment (i.e. transits, levels, and laser levels)
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct at all times
  • Possess excellent work habits and be able to demonstrate them to subordinates
  • Ability to effectively communicate with personnel at different levels
  • Ability to foresee potential problems and take necessary action to prevent the problems from occurring
  • Ability to work in an organized manner and adapt readily to change
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Completion of OSHA 30-hour

Responsibilities

  • Work concurrently with crew to complete job while supervising work

  • Complete new hire paperwork for local union members when required
  • Provide daily reporting via tablet as required to administrative personnel
  • Provide input for project pre-planning and follow field plans
  • Keep supervisors informed on the job’s progress and estimate completion dates
  • Communicate resource problems to supervisors in a timely manner
  • Verify caulk details prior to starting the job
  • Review plans, complete an estimate/take off and order caulking material for projects
  • Complete caulking in a systematic manner to ensure completion and efficient use of resources
