About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Austin is expanding key service lines, including the development of a new cardiac catheterization (cath) lab. This role is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing program, helping shape workflows, build strong team culture, and support the launch of new services in a dynamic and evolving environment. The Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to individuals undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. This role includes assessing patients before, during, and after procedures; administering medications and moderate sedation in accordance with established protocols; continuously monitoring patient status and responding promptly to changes in condition. The Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) collaborates closely with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care while maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to regulatory and safety standards. The Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) also provides patient and family education, documents care accurately, participates in emergency response during procedures, and contributes to quality improvement initiatives within the cardiovascular service line. The ideal Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) would have at least one year of Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) experience, two years preferred.

Requirements

  • Grad of an Accredited Program or (2) two years of work experience above the minimum qualification
  • Two Years of Experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) within (30) thirty days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) experience, two years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to individuals undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
