About The Position

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist to join their team in the Cath Lab department. This is a Full-Time position with Day Shift hours. The role involves tracking real-time physiological data, executing hemodynamic calculations, preparing and maintaining specialized equipment, partnering with physicians, and educating patients and families on post-procedure care.

Requirements

  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Certified Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Track real-time physiological data—including heart rhythms, blood pressures, and saturations—to instantly detect and communicate critical status changes to the physician during complex cardiovascular cases.
  • Execute accurate hemodynamic calculations, cardiac output assessments, and intra-procedure testing to give the care team immediate, actionable diagnostic data.
  • Prepare, maintain, and sterilely handle specialized equipment and supplies to maintain a safe, sterile environment throughout every procedure.
  • Partner with the physician by anticipating case needs, adapting quickly to changing patient conditions, and ensuring seamless room setup and infection control standards.
  • Educate patients and their families on post-procedure catheter site care, recovery expectations, and warning signs to ensure a safe transition home.
