Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Must have successfully completed a certified nursing assistant or critical care technician course
  • Obtain and maintain BLS certification, and EKG certification to be maintaind throughout employment; EKG certification will be achieved by the completion of orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience with patient care
  • EKG certification preferred; upon hire will be trained and certified if previously not obtained.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the care of patients undergoing procedures in the cardiac catheterization (CCL) and electrophysiology (EP) laboratories; primary functions will include: EKGs, transport, assistance with ADL’s, and performance of technical duties as directed by RN; this is including but not limited to: phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, and communication of changes in patients’ status to the RN while responding appropriately.
  • Participates in maintaining regulatory readiness, Cooper’s patient satisfaction initiatives, departmental goals, and performance improvement projects.
